What is a School-Home Compact?
Working Together
The School–Home Compact is an agreement that families, students, and teachers develop together. It explains how families and teachers will work together to make sure all students reach or exceed grade-level standards.

Building Partnerships
Title I Program
Our Title I program hosts FREE family events throughout the year. These events provide your family with resources and guidance to equip you in supporting your students’ learning at home. These events are wonderful opportunities for you to connect with your child’s teacher(s), classmates, and other Stars Nation families.
Our Goals
District Goals:
ELA: SCS will increase ELA proficiency on TCAP in grades 3–5 by Spring 2026.
Math: SCS will increase Math proficiency on TCAP in grades 3–5 by Spring 2026.
Vena Stuart Goals:
ELA: Increase the number of students in grades K–2 scoring proficient on the language arts portion of the AimsWeb Universal Screener for the 25–26 SY. Increase the number of students in grades 3–5 scoring on track or mastered on the ELA portion of the TCAP assessment for the 25–26 SY.
Math: Increase the number of students in grades K–2 scoring proficient on the math portion of the AimsWeb Universal Screener for the 25–26 SY. Increase the number of students in grades 3–5 scoring on track or mastered on the Math portion of the TCAP assessment for the 25–26 SY.

Academic Support
- Instruction aligned to TN state standards
- Implementation of Fundations (K–3rd) for foundational literacy standards
- Implementation of Wit and Wisdom for ELA instruction (K–5th)
- Implementation of Eureka math curriculum (K–5th)
- Intervention/Enrichment opportunities for all students to address individual growth
Social Support
- Implement a Multi-Tiered System of Support to promote positive student behaviors
- Teach and model all school-wide behavior expectations
- Daily Morning Meetings to cultivate a positive classroom culture
- Frequent two-way communication with families
Emotional Support
- Calm Down Corners in every classroom
- Guidance Counselors to provide more opportunities for student support
- All teachers trained in and using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCIS) practices
Success at Home
Supporting Student Success
You can support your student’s success by doing the following at home:
Academic Support
- Reading nightly (student and/or parent)
- Practice math facts
- Check homework/daily folders
- Use Skyward to stay up-to-date on student’s grades
- Talk about their day and what they are learning
Social Support
- Have conversations about what it means to be safe, responsible, and respectful at school
- Ask about their Dojo points (school-wide behavior system)
- Frequent two-way communication with teachers to discuss student learning and behaviors
- Attend Family Engagement Nights and Parent/Teacher Conferences
- Connect to the school and classroom Remind app
Emotional Support
- Help my child be on time and attend school daily
- Eat breakfast at home or at school
- Get a good night’s sleep
